She is the designer and founder of Maria Pujana designs, and a retired neurologist and adjunct professor at CWRU.

Her fine and fashion jewelry brand is known for handcrafted pieces using gold, silver, and natural elements as coral, amber, and pearls, and gemstones. Her designs have been featured in Vogue, Hola/Hello Magazine, and showcased at Pasarela Cibeles Fashion Week in Madrid and New York.
